Through engaging presentations, workshops, and mentoring sessions, Grammy-winning Eighth Blackbird members Matthew Duvall and Garrett Obrycki shared their expertise in contemporary classical music performance and entrepreneurship. Their visit benefited a broad cross-section of the Eastman community, including undergraduate and graduate students across multiple studios, as well as faculty in musicology, ethnomusicology, percussion, and ECMS. Their presence enriched our community’s understanding of new music performance practices and career development, while fostering meaningful connections between students and established professionals in the field.
