The Sacred Heart Chamber Music Summit, led by Ben Jalensky and Johnum Palado, welcomed five young musicians to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oberlin, Ohio. The week featured warm-ups, chamber rehearsals, and classes on listening, improvisation, and ensemble skills, culminating in a final performance and reception. Students left with stronger musical and interpersonal skills, and parents praised the experience. Funded in part by IML, the summit covered music, supplies, t-shirts, and more. Plans for future summits include adding a day, bringing in guest artists, and implementing a refundable deposit to ensure commitment.
