Serve your community through music
As a high school student, you’re a leader in your school or community music program. Perhaps you have a leadership role in your band, orchestra, or choir. Maybe you’re a member of a music honor society, or active in the community. Music is a part of your life, and you’re ready to use your medium to make an impact. Being an artist-citizen is your opportunity to have a positive influence on your classmates, neighbors, and community.
Are you ready?
What it is.
A one-day retreat of interactive workshops to develop the skills necessary for musicians to engage in the community. Each session, taught by Eastman School of Music faculty and staff, will focus on a different topic necessary for interactive public performances, including program development, project management, and leadership.
Who it’s for.
High school musicians who are leaders in their school or community music program, and ready to share their craft with the community. Are you interested in taking the next steps in collaboration with other musicians to reach new audiences, interact, perform, and inspire? Then this program is for you.
What you gain.
The tools, resources, and perspective to create and hold engaging public performances in your community. You will work alongside a small cohort of like-minded peers, learning from world-class musicians and educators from the Eastman School of Music. During the retreat, participants will design a plan for a captivating public performance, and gain the tools and skills to fulfill that plan in the upcoming academic year.

Registration is $25 per student. Music educators attend for FREE along with students from their institution. Lunch is included for all. Payment can be provided by credit card with the registration form, or an invoice can be sent to schools for students to attend.
